  • Precise tuner with different display modes that can display up to four input signals simultaneously
  • Easy integration into an existing synthesizer setup to use the waveform generators as additional oscillators or LFOs

The Nu:Tekt NTS-2 Oscilloscope Kit is a multifunctional tool for musicians to build themselves. In addition to functioning as a 4-channel oscilloscope – capable of displaying both control voltages (CV) and audio signals – the NTS-2 also includes a flexible waveform generator, spectrum analyzer, and versatile tuner in a single handy DIY device. The NTS-2 offers musicians and producers of all styles and experience levels a complete package of practical tools and precise references for studio and stage.

A must-have in the studio

The NTS-2 is compact, but don't let its size fool you – it offers a wealth of professional features. The NTS-2 is an oscilloscope, tuner and FFT spectrum analyzer all in one – precise, intuitive to use and incredibly versatile. But that's not all: with its two stereo inputs, two stereo THRU/OUT outputs and two additional outputs, it can be integrated into an existing synthesizer setup in no time at all, for example to use its two waveform generators as additional oscillators or LFOs. This makes it the ideal tool for any synthesizer or modular fan – whether beginner or professional.

The ideal companion for synthesizer novices

Although synthesizers are actually musical instruments, it is often easier to learn how they work when our ears are supported by our eyes. Thus, abstract topics such as waveforms, frequency and time relationships, audio signals and control voltages suddenly become vivid when they are visualized, and one does not have to rely exclusively on hearing to assess their direct effects. In this way, the learning curve is greatly flattened by the colored representation of the various signals, and even complex relationships suddenly become clearly understandable. The oscilloscope, a tool for visualizing signals and voltages, has been known for some years now – but mainly as an instrument of science and research, which is why it was not necessarily easily accessible to every musician until now. This is now changing, because for the first time, an oscilloscope has been developed specifically for musicians. The user interface of the NTS-2 is simple, clear and easy to use. Instead of endlessly tweaking countless knobs and exploring obscure parameters, the NTS-2 allows signals to be displayed and understood in seconds. This keeps your concentration where it belongs: on the music.

4-channel oscilloscope

Up to four different signals can be analyzed, compared and superimposed simultaneously via the two stereo inputs. A variety of display modes bring the signals to life in color – a big advantage over the old, monochrome oscilloscopes from classic science fiction movies. Operation is simple and intuitive thanks to dedicated menu keys, a push encoder, and a 2.8-inch 240 x 320 color LCD display. The NTS-2 even offers a powerful Lissajous mode that lets creativity run wild and visualizes stunning oscilloscope artwork. FFT / Spectrum Analyzer

To dive even deeper into the analysis of any signal, the NTS-2 also offers a special FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) mode with a real-time spectrum analyzer. Such useful tools were often inaccessible to many synth fans in the past, as they required either very expensive hardware or at least a computer in close proximity. - Now you can carry them around in your pocket.

Double waveform generator

The flexible Waveform Generator mode offers two oscillators, each with its own output. Use them, for example, to test your synthesizer rig or for particularly creative patching ideas. Each oscillator can generate a variety of waveforms: sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, pulse wave and noise, and both the actual shape and phase can be manipulated to suit as many applications as possible. These sounds can be used both as audio signals and as control voltage sources. They can also be used as continuous signals or as one-time pulses. In this way, they can be used as LFOs, envelopes, triggers, control voltage generators, and even sound sources. In this way, the NTS-2 expands the possibilities of any synthesizer with patch options by additional sound parameters in the blink of an eye and thus becomes an absolute dream tool for analog synthesizer lovers.

Tuner

Of course, a multifunctional tool for musicians from the house of KORG would not be complete if it did not also include a precise and easy-to-use tuner with various display modes. The ability to display up to four input signals simultaneously makes the NTS-2 an excellent tuner for setups with multiple analog synthesizers.

Connection diversity and intuitive operation

Despite its compact format, the NTS-2 offers numerous possibilities for integration into your studio environment. In addition to its 4-channel inputs and two waveform outputs, it has two stereo THRU/OUT outputs that allow it to be easily and, if desired, permanently connected to your system. This allows you to easily monitor all important signals visually without having to constantly plug and unplug cables. This convenient feature allows you to leave your signal flow undisturbed despite using the NTS-2 to display the generated signals – even when the NTS-2 is turned off.
